Lovers Reunion 2010 --
July 8-11,
2010
We are especially
pleased to announce some changes in the Reunion Week
schedule in 2010. There were lots of discussions
among Pottery Lovers, in July, with many expressing
concerns about the declining attendance, by
collectors and dealers, over the past several years.
The decline has been gradual and it has certainly
not escaped our attention. We have shared your
concerns about the lack of attendance and the
general lack of interest in art pottery, by new
collectors. This is not the 1990s anymore! We can
all agree that we share a common bond; our passion
and our love of art pottery. While we thought things
would never change, they have. We must do something
to revitalize the reunion! The concerns, this year,
may have escalated because of the changes at the
Holiday Inn. As you all know, the Holiday is now a
Ramada. We recognize that the hotel is not what it
was 10 years ago, but nothing is. We have maintained
a good working relationship with the hotel
management and we are committed to continue to work
with them in efforts to improve conditions at the
hotel. We cannot control the hotel’s budget, but
we can certainly make our concerns known. We have
shared your concerns with them and we will continue
to reinforce them throughout the year. Pottery
Lovers has been around for more than 30 years. It is
our express desire that the Reunion continue, not
just to exist, but to thrive into
the future. We can do this, but it will require all
our efforts, working as a team, to make the changes
successful. We are really excited about the changes
and we recognize that some things will go more
smoothly than others, but we are committed to make
this work. We want to be a part of the solution, not
a part of the problem. We hope you choose to join us
in 2010 for a Stellar Reunion! Joe Tunnell, said it
well, "We’re better together!" The
tentative schedule below introduces the SThursday to
